It's Friday 24th, its my last day in work, well what they would have me believe is work :P

I've spent the last two months here doing absolutely nothing, actually this blog is the result of my boredom, not sure how often I'll be online anymore but I'll try my best to keep up with everyone's daily activities ;)

Anyway, two months of doing nothing and getting paid feck all because of stupid taxes, why must they tax students? Don't they realise we have drinking to do? It has seriously slowed down my year and made it extrememly boring, no experience in any work have I received, just a free dinner this afternoon before I go and a nice little reference on my cv. Are all jobs I expect to obtain going to be like this? Am I going to be sitting on my ass checking emails and chatting to people for the rest of my life? I really don't want it, don't get me wrong, I love it, but its the kind of love I have for chocolate and coffee and cigarettes, its not good for me! I'll figure something out.

Now, back to myspace...xxx

Thank Elmo its Friday

by Elle-dee @ 24.08.2007 - 11:41:40

Some Friday chuckles for you all -->

There is a factory in America which makes the Tickle Me Elmo toys. The toy laughs when you tickle it under the arm. A new employee is hired at the Tickle Me Elmo factory and she reports for her first day promptly at 8:00am.

The next day at 8:45am there is a knock at the Personnel Manager’s door. The foreman from the assembly line throws open the door and begins to rant about the new employee. He complains that she is incredibly slow and the whole line is backing up, putting the entire production line behind schedule.

The personnel manager decides he should see this for himself so the 2 men march down to the factory floor. When they get there, the line is so backed up that there are Tickle Me Elmo’s all over the factory floor and they’re really beginning to pile up.

At the end of the line stands the new employee surrounded by mountains of Tickle Me Elmo’s. She has a roll of plush red fabric and a huge bag of small marbles. The 2 men watch in amazement as she cuts a little piece of fabric, wraps it around two marbles and begins to carefully sew the little package between Elmo’s legs.

The Personnel Manager bursts into laughter. After several minutes of hysterics he pulls himself together and approaches the woman. “I’m sorry,” he says to her, barely able to keep a straight face, “but I think you misunderstood the instructions I gave you yesterday. Your job is to give Elmo two test TICKLES”.

Confession

by Elle-dee @ 03.08.2007 - 15:25:05

I've always been a huge fan, but about two weeks ago I watched all six episodes and am totally taken by their way of life, I have become obsessed and can't stop making references about it in this life. I speak metaphorically a lot about Star Wars. Like, when I'm trying to explain something to my Turkish friend (my mentor) I give examples from Star Wars, sometimes I even like to fantasise about it, secretly!

Is this strange?

Does anyone else go through this kind of thing?

The Simpsons Movie

by Elle-dee @ 27.07.2007 - 11:48:10

Ok, so probably every 3rd blog has reviewed this film and is commenting on it in someway but I don't care, I'm going to give my views right now!

Went to see it last night, was a bit sceptical because the last few new episodes of the popular tv show have been a bit of a let down (apart from the 24 one!). So in I went with my large popcorn and bottle of water, was seated just in time and got cosy.

For the whole 90 or so minutes I was entertained to a maximum, I was kept laughing and was constantly wowed but some weird stuff. The animation is much more advanced from that in the tv series which makes some scenes look alien to others. However, the story line was good, the characters were good, the humour was excellent and the popcorn had just enough salt!

If you want to watch this movie, go to the cinema, its not one to be seen on a tv unless you have a 32" HD!

I'd go see it again tonight but the Transformers are out tomorrow and I only have so much money!

Poor Dog Answer

by Elle-dee @ 27.07.2007 - 10:38:05

So my sister took her to the pet clinic yesterday, worried as ever! The vet started looking and snooping around her, sticking things in her ears and her mouth then proclaimed "There's milk leaking from her nipples!"

My sister nearly had a heartattack right there(this is the one who's moving to Australia and is finding it difficult enough leaving her dog but to leave her pregnant dog? She'd call it off!)

Vets are good with people too, just before my sister feel to the floor he explained that she was having a "Phantom Pregnancy" and there was nothing to worry about. He gave her an injection in the neck and said just watch her for a few days and if she's still whining in a week or two come back and see me.

So that solves that mystery, eh?

But hey, thanks guys for all your responses and support, I was worried about her x

Strange time for a holiday

by Elle-dee @ 26.07.2007 - 16:50:15

So, for the last three years my family have gone broad on holidays, first France, then Spain and Spain again last year, this year I was told today we are going to Paris again (unfortunately my sister's moving to Australia so it won't be all of us :( ).

Anyway, these places are usually lovely hot typical holiday resorts, right? Full of sunny people and happy people and it's always nice to get a break, but why on Earth, since I was small, have my family ALWAYS decided to go during Winter? It doesnt make sense! Instead of saying, "yeah we'll go before you get back to college and back into study", they say "oh you may take a few days off college and catch up when you get back"! I'm not the sort of person who likes to take days off like that!

On the other hand, I realise it's that bit cheaper but wouldn't we be better off going somewhere where there's snow? Make it feel like winter, not like a fake summer during winter, cos from my experience winter in these countries aren't the hottest and usually get very breezy!

I suppose I shouldn't complain because at the end of the day I'm getting a holiday like, and I suppose this year we're going to EuroDisney which is great fun (especially since this year we're staying in the resort itself and not some cheap hotel on the other side of the city!)

I don't know, I guess I'll just never understand my parents logic in this!

Humbug!

Poor Dog Update

by Elle-dee @ 26.07.2007 - 10:01:56

She was fine at the family home but started whinging the second she came in the door, slept fine but whined all morning, I know for sure nothing happened at home so I don't know why she seemed so scared. I asked her last night what was wrong hoping she would in some way communicate to me exactly what is upsetting her - no luck yet! But I'm trying to be patient! My sister is bringing her to the pet clinic tonight, just to see if they can help in any way! I'll let ye all know what comes outta that one! x
